# What is the Best Time to Post on Social Media Sites

Everyone is interested to know the best time to post on social media networking sites, with different algorithms for different platforms with varying zones of time and the various audience it’s pretty tough to mark the best time to post universally.

Let’s analyze the data and figures out this issue.

##### Algorithms and Time

Social media has refined in several levels from being a chronological timeline to predict the relevancy of users using the algorithm.

Social platforms try to posts their updates during the time they believe it is the most relevant depending on different signals, let it be engagement, updates or other factors. Posting during a specific time might be related to the people who are logged in then, but that does not mean users will not see your posts at some point when they log in.

let’s overview the social media algorithms of various social media platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

##### LinkedIn

The LinkedIn feeds its updates based on multiple signals across three main categories:

- Identification: Who are you? Who you work for? Your skill sets and Your connection.
- Content: takes a survey of views of each update, likes of each update, what was the concerns of the update, how old was the update, language written, things, people, companies mentioned in the update.
- Behavior: user behavior is taken account of, like what do you frequently look for, whom do you connect with and where you spend most of your time.

LinkedIn takes account of all these analyses and upgrades their way of posting updates. Also, users can manually switch to the new feeds in the social platforms.

##### Facebook

Facebook announced a new ranking algorithm in 2018

This algorithm needs more attention which resulted

- Posts from friends and family surroundings will surface less of public content from brands.
- Pages might experience traffic downfall in their reach and video watching time.
- Pages with posts that tend to more of conversations between friends will experience a minimum amount of a negative impact.
- Also, who prefer more posts from their favorite brands can choose what they want to see.
- Live video may be an excellent choice to engage your audience.

##### Instagram

Instagram updated its algorithm in 2018

Instagram does not fully relay on the chronological timelines it works on relevant content based on the user engagement. To add on timing is considered as an important ranking signal.

- Instagram rank signals relay on
- A user is interested in the content.
- Date when the posts were shared.
- Past interactions with the person posting.

Instagram rewards the posts depending upon the interaction and right hashtags.

##### Twitter

Twitter made slight changes to its functionality where users can choose the features that allow serving the most relevant content for the users.

It works real time, you change the features according to your interest when you open after being away for a while you will witness the most likely tweets which you care about, and your interests are on.

Twitter’s CEO also confirmed that the “live and real-time” feed would always remain as the staple of twitter.

##### Universal Best Time to Post

Every year studies state different universal best time to post, each data has different data set to justify those timings.

In 2018, CoSchedule did 23 studies on their data, to sum up, some universal best time to posts to Facebook,

Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

Here are some of the highlights.

CoSchedule analysed the best time to post on Facebook is 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The bit late into the week and on weekends, that includes:

- Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
- Thursday and Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Wednesday at 3 p.m.

To increase the number of shares and clickthroughs, the best times to post according to the article:

- 1 p.m.
- 3 p.m.
- 9 a.m.

##### Instagram

- CoSchedule suggested the following timings for Instagram
- Monday and Thursday exclude 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Videos any day from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.
- Experiment with 2 a.m., 5 p.m. and Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Moreover, the general best times to post, according to the article, are:

- 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
- 2 a.m.
- 5 p.m.

##### LinkedIn

- CoSchedule suggested the following timings for LinkedIn
- Tuesday,10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m.; 12 p.m.; and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

When to post on LinkedIn to get the most clickthroughs, according to the article, is:

- 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- 7 p.m to 8 p.m.
- 12 p.m

##### Twitter

- CoSchedule suggested the following timings for Twitter
- Wednesday at noon and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Monday through Friday at 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
- Experiment with 2 a.m. to 3 a.m.; 6 a.m. to 7 a.m.; and 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.

When to tweet in general to increase retweets and clickthrough’s, says CoSchedule:

- 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Noon specifically
- 3 p.m.

By considering all these strategies, it’s more important to focus not only on timings but also in managing the social media posts content and other factors that influence your audience.
