Google Duplex A New Assistant of Humans

Google I/O developer’s 2018 conference in Mountain View, left awestruck the entire technical world by Google Duplex.

Google Duplex is the most significant technology that will make casual conversations naturally over the phone via Google’s AI-based assistant, As per the announcement from Google  “The technology is directed towards completing specific tasks, such as scheduling certain types of appointments. For such tasks, the system makes the conversational experience as natural as possible, allowing people to speak normally, as they would to another person, without having to adapt to a machine.”

Google CEO Sundar Pichai explained the technology by providing a live call where  one wants to book an appointment at a hair salon, and followed by the call where one wants to reserve a restaurant on a particular date though there was a lot of nuances and details should be dealt with , duplex was mesmerising and answering like an average human. Even it attempted some non-lexical fillers like hmmm was out of the world. You can do everything automatically without you having to touch your phone.

Google duplex is made to make calls and appointments, but the exciting part is it sounds more like a human, and there is about six different voice impregnated to assist the queries.

This was not a chatbot nor an auto-filling form instead it was Google assistant making a conversation with a human like a human.

To add on more detail, if at some scenarios Duplex understands it cannot complete the conversation it is capable enough to turn over to the human operator for being more accurate, in majority cases Duplex completes the task with its self-monitoring capability autonomously, without the intervention of the human. In case of details like scheduling and arranging some essential complex tasks it turns out to the human for the completion of the work.

As nearby concluding Pichai added that Duplex is still under development for its betterment and will be out in months with the updation. Pichai via Duplex shows the real power of AI and its capabilities Google Duplex is taking AI to the next more significant level and this technological revolution is stunning and marvelous.

Duplex is the most impressive, and the next big future and the World can’t wait to switch over to this robotic assistant.
